Meat Free Monday

Over the years there has been a push to get the public to change their diets with a small incremental step of having one day each week as meat free, this has been branded by the powers to be as “Meat-free Mondays”.

Here at Patsy's we thought that a way to help with this cultural shift would be to do a series of dinners, that celebrate vegetable based cuisine and piggy-back this “Meat-free-Monday” onto the tradition of Monday being the night that our hospitality industry friends go out and dine together.

We are excited to bring some of Melbournes best and brightest chef's together to share their take on what meat-free dining can be. As part of our mailing list we are allowing you the chance to secure a ticket to our first dinner which is on the 10th of July.

For the first co-laboration dinner we are hosting

Cam Tay Yap of Amaru -  Many people may have heard of Cam as he was featured in this years 30 under 30 dinner as part of the food and wine festival. However for those that don't, after starting at Attica at 17 years old he stayed there for over four years. Using the yearly Christmas holiday to travel and stage around the world, he finally left Attica to travel but found himself back in Melbourne after eating his way through his savings. Eventually, he found his way into Amaru, and under the guidance of Clinton McIver, is now head chef, leading the team to create a dining experience that is seasonal, sustainable, unique and most importantly, delicious.

Joining us will also be
Kim Sangsoo, Head Chef of James in South Melbourne where he is bringing a uniquely Korean perspective onto the Australian native ingredients that he has encountered in Melbourne. He has been winning accolades with this food including a Chef's Hat in the Good food guide this year, he might not have a huge profile in the industry yet, however this guy is one to watch and we are so excited that he is going to be sharing his take on vegetable based cuisine with our guests.
